Graphic novelist Jorge Aguirre will present his newest book for kids, Dragons Beware!, on Monday, May 18, at 7:30 p.m.
In Dragons Beware!, author Aguirre and illustrator Rafael Rosado continue the tale they begin in Giants Beware!, which focused on a trio of characters: feisty Claudette, who is ready to take on any foe; her younger brother Gaston, a culinary prodigy; and Princess Marie, who is a master negotiator. In their first adventure, the trio defeated the Baby-Feet Eating Giant; now they face the task of confronting a deadly dragon who has eaten the sword needed to defeat an evil wizard. Kirkus Review said of Dragons Beware!: "This rowdy adventure is sure to be a crowd pleaser."
At our program, Aguirre will read from Dragons Beware! and talk about how he came to write graphic novels for kids. Politics & Prose will sell copies of the books, but no purchase is required to attend this fun program, which is great for kids in elementary and middle school and their parents.
