Madame Marie offers our twice-monthy Petites Chansons program on Saturday, April 24 at 10:30 a.m. Children (and their grown-ups!) don't need to know French to enjoy this program of songs and rhymes en francais. No registration necessary for this program, which is perfect for babies, toddlers and preschoolers.
And note that our Petites Chansons program takes place on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. In May, we'll offer the program on Saturday, May 8 and Saturday, May 22 -- both at 10:30 a.m.
Bedtime Stories will take place on the second Monday in May -- May 10 at 7 p.m. Although Bedtime Stories usually takes place on the first Monday of the month, we need to do our Mother's Day Gift-Making that evening, May 3, from 6:30-8 p.m. We welcome young participants for our Mother's Day Gift-Making, but please register so we can have enough craft materials, which are provided by the Friends of the Takoma Park Maryland Library. Kids: come make a gift for your mom or the other special woman in your life. We'll provide the materials, courtesy of the Friends of the Takoma Park Maryland Library. All you have to provide is the creativity! This event is best for ages 4 up, although younger children are welcome with full parental supervision. Come to our annual celebration of children and books on Saturday, May 1, from 10:30-noon! As part of the national El Dia de los Ninos/El Dia de los Libros -- Children's Day/Book Day -- we're offering a special program of music and crafts. At 10:30 a.m., Gabe Hutter, a.k.a Mr. Gabe, will present a musical program of songs in English, Spanish and French. After that, everyone will have a chance to make a craft to take home. All young participants also will be given a free book, courtesy of the Friends of the Takoma Park Maryland Library. This is a great event for babies, toddlers and preschoolers. The Comics Jam program, scheduled for Monday, April 12 at 4 p.m. has been postponed. The program will now take place on Wednesday, April 14, at 4 p.m. No registration necessary for Comics Jam , at which we read comics projected on a big screen in the library's Children's Room.
