Each week, we do a combination of traditional and new rhymes, songs and fingerplays at our weekly Circle Time programs (Tuesdays at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.). Recently, parents asked if we could post some of the traditional rhymes on the Children's Room blog so they could learn them at home. Read on to find some Circle Time favorites; all are easy to learn and fun to do with your child. And remember, our half-hour Circle Times don't require registration and are appropriate for children ages birth through age 5 and their grown-ups. Choose either the 10 a.m. Circle Time or the 11 a.m. Circle Time.

Along comes Mr. Alligator (low voice, palms together, make a wavy motion)
Grumpy as can be
And – SNAP! (palms together with a clap)
(Wiggle fingers to mimic other monkeys running away)
