October is a banner month for comics fans at our library! On Tuesday, October 8, our graphic novel guru Dave Burbank will offer his monthly Comics Jam at 4 p.m. No registration required for this program, which ends with Dave taking "drawing requests" from the audience. No registration required.
Then, on Thursday, Oct. 10 at 7:30 p.m., Paul Pope, an award-winning graphic novelist for adults, will unveil his new book for kids, Battling Boy. Politics & Prose Bookstore staffers will be selling copies of Pope's book, but no purchase is necessary to attend this free event. Best for ages 10 up; Pope's many adult fans also are most welcome! Our monthly Bedtime Stories program will take place tonight at 7 p.m. at the Takoma Park Maryland Library. Come join Ms. Kati for 30 minutes of songs, stories and rhymes. No registration is necessary for this program, which is perfect for babies, toddlers, preschoolers and their grown-ups.
Our Bedtime Stories program normally takes place on the first Monday evening of the month, but we're offering it a week later this month because of the Labor Day holiday.
