Mother's Day Crafts has been rescheduled for Sunday, May 4 from 2-4. No registration necessary! Just drop in between those hours and make some cards, flower crafts, and scratch art. All ages are invited.
Mark your calendars! Anna Dewdney, author of the best-selling Llama, Llama books, will speak at the library on Thursday, May 8 at 7 p.m. Anna will read from her newest book, Nelly Gnu and Daddy Too and also demonstrate her drawing techniques. She'll conclude by signing books. Politics & Prose Bookstore will be selling books for anyone who wants to have them signed, but our program is free and no purchase is required. Please join us for this extra special event!
The craft program scheduled for next Sunday, the 27th, has been canceled.
Kids: come celebrate National Poetry Month with our Kids Poetry Fun program, which will take place tonight at 7 p.m. Led by veteran educators and poets Rosanne Singer and Liz Rees, the focus of the program will be creating poetry about opposites. Both Rosanne and Liz know how to make creating poetry a fun and active process, filled with movement and laughter, and their previous programs have been huge hits with young participants. So please come join us for a very hands-on poetry program! Registration encouraged, but not required; to register, go to Program Registration - Takoma Park Maryland Library or call us at 301-891-7259. But feel free also to just show up for this fun program!
Both Circle Times (10 a.m. and 11 a.m.) are cancelled for Tuesday, April 8. Please join us next Tuesday April 15 at either 10 a.m. or 11 a.m. for a half-hour of songs, rhymes and movement activities, all designed to help little ones learn early literacy skills through play.
Join us tonight for Bedtime Stories at 7:00 pm. Tonight's storytime will have songs and books and a simple thematic craft. I'm looking forward to trying out a craft for this program!
