2014 Newbery Award winner for Flora and Ulysses, Kate DiCamillo will be here for a Question and Answer session with her Takoma Park fans. Which are your favorites? Because of Winn Dixie? The Mercy Watson series? The Tale of Despereaux? The Tiger Rising? The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane? The Bink and Gollie books? The Magician's Elephant? Come ask questions.
Tonight, August 28th at 7 pm, author and illustrator Peter Brown will be reading and drawing here at the library.
Come join us tonight at 7 p.m. for a look at some great new picture books -- plus lemonade and cookies! No registration necessary; just come and enjoy some wonderful new books at the monthly meeting of the Caldecott Club -- our family book club. Everyone is welcome!
Craft with Washi tape this Sunday, Aug. 17 at 2:00 at the Takoma Park Maryland Library (101 Philadelphia Ave.)
This program is intended for children ages 8 and up.
Washi tape is a beautiful decorative Japanese paper tape and I have a variety of interesting patterns. Crafts range from cards, upcycling Altoids tins, decorating wooden peg dolls, DIY "manicures" and whatever else you can think of!
Kids can create their own card-stock monster tonight Monday August 4 at 7 p.m. at our annual Summer Quest Campfire event. All are welcome at this fun event, which is designed to connect with the theme of this year's Summer Quest reading program: Monster Zoo. Best of all, everyone will go home with the makings for that campfire classic -- s'mores!
