Come read Where the Wild Things Are, The Snowy Day and other 1960's Caldecott Medal winners with us on Monday November 26 at 7 p.m.
It's all part of our months-long celebration of the 75th birthday of the Caldecott Medal, given annually by the American Library Association to the best-illustrated children's book. Each month, we'll be looking at a different decade of winners; in December, our focus will be on 1970's Caldecott books like Sylvester and the Magic Pebble by William Steig and Freight Train by Donald Crews. All of these Caldecott Medal and Caldecott Honor books are classics that can be enjoyed by kids and adults alike.
We'll even have refreshments -- lemonade and cookies -- as part of our program tomorrow night, courtesy of the Friends of the Takoma Park Maryland Library. No registration required; just come and enjoy reading some wonderful picture books during our hour-long program!
