Winter Solstice Transformed

Loyal Takoma Parkians were forced to work in isolation to drum the sun back into the sky as a result of the postponement of the annual Winter Solstice celebration. You did a great job; the sun seems to be returning. Now in its stead we offer an alternative celebration, Imbolc, one-eighth of a turn along the circle of the year.

Imbolc (February 1 or 2.... Candlemas and Groundhog's Day bear a relationship to the festival) marks the first hints of Spring, with whiffs of the freshening of the breezes, the gradual lengthening of the days, the stirrings of new hope.

Let's gather up the usual suspects, including Bill Jenkins and the Foggy Bottem Morris Men, to bring light and merrymaking to our community. Thursday evening, February 9, at 7:15. All are welcome.
