For the millions of fans of The Hunger Games, the can't-put-it-down trilogy by Suzanne Collins, the big question was who would play Katniss, the leading character, in the upcoming movies. Twenty-year-old Jennifer Lawrence was finally chosen for the role. Paolo Bacigalupi's second novel, Ship Breaker won this year's Michael Printz Award, given to the best book of the year for teen readers. The Printz is often called the "Newbery Medal" of the teen book world, and the winning books are always thought-provoking. Bacigalupi's book is no exception.
