The Hunger Games

The Hunger Games, the wildly-popular dystopian triology by Suzanne Collins, recently achieved another mark of distinction: it was named as one of the top 10 most challenged books of the past year by the American Library Association (ALA). In noting that The Hunger Games ranked number 5 on the most challenged list, ALA officials said the series had been challenged by people who complained that it was sexually explicit, violent and unsuited to its age group. Yet millions of teens -- and adults -- have found the series to be a profoundly moving indictment of the consequences of war.
