"Moon Man," "The Three Robbers," "No Kiss for Mother." Tomi Ungerer is a writer of many gifts. His work ranges from his autobiography to "Otto: The Autobiography of a Teddy Bear" to the illustrations of "Flat Stanley" to adult work like political posters and erotic drawings.
His words and pictures are sensitive but provocative, serious but funny.
A new documentary about Tomi Ungerer has just been released and is playing locally at E St Cinema. I haven't seen it yet but it addresses his children's books being banned from libraries because of his controversial adult material.
Happily, our library has an impressive collection of Ungerer's work!
