Eighty years ago, a plucky detective named Nancy Drew made her debut on the kids' literary scene. Wildly popular with girls looking for adventure stories, the Nancy Drew books were banned from most libraries because librarians considered them substandard reading for kids. Times, fortunately, have changed and the Nancy Drew books now are available in libraries everywhere.
