Normal Library Hours:

Monday and Wednesday 12-9
Tuesday and Thursday 10-9
Friday 12-6
Saturday 10-5
Sunday 12-5

No phone calls, new library cards or reference questions during the last 15 minutes please.

Computer Center Hours

Monday through Friday 2-8;
Saturday 12-6 except on three-day weekends
Sunday 12-5

CLOSINGS AND CANCELLATIONS

But is it snowing heavily? Is the electricity out? Is this a holiday?

We try to post news of any unexpected closing or rescheduling on our web log.
We also try to leave a message at 301.891.7259 if we have working phone service.

Weather

Weekdays 10-5: If the Federal Government is closed City offices, including the Library, may (or may not) be closed. You should at least call to see if we are open.
Evenings and Saturdays: For the safety of staff and patrons, the Library may close if driving conditions are extremely difficult.

Other Events

Events such as loss of electricity may cause closing. In those cases it may be impossible to leave cancellation messages.

We are normally closed on

New Years Day (and we may close early on New Years Eve)

Presidents Day
Memorial Day
4th of July
Labor Day
Veterans Day
Thankgiving and the day after
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

If the holiday falls on a Sunday, we will be closed Sunday and Monday.
If the holiday falls on a Saturday, we will be closed Friday and Saturday.

Note: In the case of a Friday or Monday holiday closing, the library will be open as usual on Saturday, but the computer rooms will be closed for the entire holiday weekend.
