The City of Takoma Park is experiencing a crime spree at this time. Car break-ins, daytime burglaries and nighttime burglaries continue to plague us. We believe there are several groups committing these crimes at this time. We arrested one of our daytime burglars yesterday, but he is only one of several suspects who are being investigated. We have increased uniform and plainclothes patrols throughout the City. We are running special details around the clock. We need your help! Please call 301-270-1100 regarding any suspicious vehicle or person you see in your neighborhood. Please secure your residence and vehicles during the day and at night. Every member of the Police Department is working to identify and arrest the subjects responsible for these crimes. We will continue to keep you informed and updated on what is occurring.
