FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

On June 25, 2008, two juveniles, 13 and 14 years of age, both of Takoma Park, Maryland, were arrested and charged with trespassing, theft under $50, attempted auto theft and child(ren) in need of supervision. At approximately 7:00 p.m. on June 24, Takoma Park Police were contacted to advise that a U-Haul truck key had been stolen in the 7400 block of New Hampshire Avenue. The victim, fearing the truck would be stolen in the night, disconnected the battery. At approximately 12:10 a.m., the victim observed two males trying to start the U-Haul truck. When he went outside, the juveniles ran, but were apprehended in the 7500 block of New Hampshire Avenue. Both juveniles were transported to the police station for processing and then released to the custody of their parents.
