Armed Robbery (Weapon Displayed)
On November 30th at approximately 1:00 p.m., units responded to the 1000 block of Larch Avenue for reports of an armed robbery. The victim was approached by two black males, one with a black semi-automatic handgun, who demanded property. Property was taken and the suspects fled on foot towards New Hampshire Avenue. The first suspect is described as a tall, dark-skinned black male in his mid-20’s, approximately 6 feet tall with a skinny build and short hair. He was wearing black pants, a green camouflage shirt with a black waist length jacket over it. The second suspect is described as a dark-skinned black male in his mid-20’s, approximately 5’6, with a skinny build and short hair. He was wearing dark colored pants, a brown sweater jacket, and was armed with a large frame, black semi-automatic handgun. Investigation continues under case #07068177. On November 22, between 2:00 pm and 3:01 pm in the 1100 block of Kirklynn Avenue, a residential burglary occurred. A basement window was broken to gain entry. No property was taken. 07064650
On November 23 at 3:29 pm in the 6400 block of New Hampshire Avenue, a theft from auto occurred. An adult female who had been standing outside of her car pumping gas, re-entered her car to find her purse, which had been on the passenger seat, missing and the passenger side door ajar. 07066592
On November 23 between 1:00 pm and 4:47 pm in the 300 block of Lincoln Avenue, a 2000 Jeep Cherokee was stolen by unknown means. 07066614
On November 23, between 4:00 pm and 8:09 pm in the 7400 block of Baltimore Avenue, a residential burglary occurred. The dryer vent was pushed out of a basement window and the window forced open. Property was taken. 07066653
On November 24 at 10:05 am in the 1100 block of University Blvd., an armed robbery occurred. An adult male was approached by three subjects in a black colored four door vehicle. Two of the subjects exited the vehicle and began punching and kicking the victim, knocking him to the ground. One suspect then pulled out a knife and the other pulled out a tire reamer (a sharp metal object) and continued to assault the victim with the weapons while one of the subjects took his wallet from his rear pocket then fled in their vehicle. The victim received non-life threatening injuries. The two subjects that exited the vehicle were described as black males. The third subject who stayed in the car was described as a black female. On November 26 at 12:00 pm in the 6400 block of Kansas Lane, an armed robbery occurred. A male postal worker had just opened the rear doors of his mail truck when he noticed a subject with a gun standing behind him. The subject asked if he had money or a cell phone. When the victim replied that he did not, the subject took several packages from inside the mail truck, told the victim to walk away, then fled on foot with the packages. The victim was not injured. The subject was described as a black male, 18 years old, 5'8", 150 lbs., thin build, dark complexion, wearing blue jeans, a black hooded jacket and a black bandana over the lower part of his face. 07067146

An adult male was walking when a subject approached him from behind, brandished a handgun and demanded property. After the victim handed over his property, the subject fled on foot. It is believed he entered a white 4-door Sedan that was parked nearby. The subject was described as a black male, approximately 19 to mid-20’s, 5’8 to 5’10, approximately 150-180 lbs, dark complexion, short hair, wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt possibly with black stripes, blue jeans, and wearing a white mask. On November 29th at approximately 3:24 p.m., units responded to the 6900 block of Westmoreland Avenue for reports of an armed robbery. The victim was walking in the 6900 block of Westmoreland Avenue towards Walnut Avenue when the suspect passed him, then approached him from behind, brandished a handgun and demanded property. The suspect obtained property and fled towards Walnut Avenue on foot, however, it is believed he entered a white 4-door Sedan that was parked on Walnut Avenue facing Westmoreland Avenue. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 19 to mid-20’s in age, 5’8 to 5’10, approximately 150-180 lbs, dark complexion, short hair, wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt possibly with black stripes, blue jeans, and wearing a white mask. On November 25th at approximately 9:26 a.m., units responded to the area of Anne Street and Hammond Avenue for reports of a robbery. The victim was walking east on Hammond Avenue near Merrimac Drive when he was approached by a 4-door black sedan occupied by a black female who was driving and two black male passengers. The two males exited the vehicle and assaulted the victim. Property was taken from the victim and the suspects fled in the vehicle towards New Hampshire Avenue. The victim could not provide any other descriptions. The suspects were armed with a knife and tire reamer. The victim’s injuries were non-life threatening. Armed Robbery (Weapon Displayed)
On November 26th at approximately 12:00 p.m., units responded to the area of Westmoreland Avenue and Kansas Lane for reports of a robbery. The victim, a United States Postal Worker, was in the rear of his truck sorting mail when he was approached by the armed suspect who demanded property. The victim indicated he did not have any and the suspect removed United States mail packages from the postal truck. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 18 years old, 5’8 to 5’9 in height and 150 lbs, skinny, broad nose and dark skinned. The suspect was last seen wearing a black, possibly hooded jacket, blue jeans and a face mask that was covering half of his face, except for his eyes and nose, and armed with a 9mm black handgun. The suspect was last seen walking down Westmoreland Avenue from Kansas Lane. A police K-9 was attempted, but tracks were inconclusive. Investigation continues by TPPD under case #07067146. Strong Armed Robbery (Weapons Displayed)
On November 20th at approximately 4:11 p.m., units responded to the area of Sligo Mill Road and Sheridan Road for reports of a citizen strong armed robbery. The victim was outside with friends when a gray Toyota Corolla, occupied by three black males and one black female, pulled up beside him. The three black males jumped out of the vehicle, all brandishing handguns, and demanded money. The victim’s friends fled; the victim was assaulted and property was taken. The suspects jumped back into the vehicle and drove off. The vehicle was being driven by a black female, who had shoulder length hair and was wearing a white shirt. Attempted Armed Robbery (Weapon Displayed)
On November 17th at approximately 3:30 p.m., units responded to the 1200 block of Holton Lane for an attempted armed robbery. The victims were walking on Holton Lane towards New Hampshire Avenue. Just prior to Wildwood Drive, a cream colored Chrysler 300 passed them on Wildwood Drive from Kirklynn towards Merrimac Drive. As the victims continued walking on Holton Lane, the same vehicle passed them heading up Holton Lane towards New Hampshire Avenue. The vehicle then made a u-turn and parked on Holton Lane near Hammond Avenue. One suspect exited the vehicle with what appeared to be an automatic weapon. The weapon was described as being the length of the suspects forearm and hand. A second suspect also exited the vehicle. The third suspect, the driver, remained in the vehicle. The victims’ indicated that money was demanded, but before they could comply, they flagged down a vehicle that was driving on Holton Lane towards Wildwood Drive. The suspects got back into the vehicle and fled in an unknown direction. The victims were not harmed and property was not taken. The suspects are described as (1) black male, light complexion, 16 years old, 5’6, 120 lbs, jeans; (2) black male, dark complexion, 18-19 years of age, 5’10; and (3) black male (driver). Strong Armed Robbery (Weapon Displayed)
On November 16th at approximately 7:10 p.m., units responded to the 7800 block of Kennewick Avenue for a strong armed robbery. The victim was walking at the corner of Kennewick and Kirklynn Avenue when a dark van pulled up in front of him. Four black males, all wearing dark clothing, black hoodies, between 5’10 and 6’0 and between 20-25 years of age, exited the vehicle. Two of the suspects were armed with what were possibly automatics. The victim was assaulted. The suspects obtained property and fled on Kirklynn Avenue towards Wildwood Drive. Investigation continues by TPPD under case #07065245. Burglary
On November 14th, between the hours of 4:45 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., a residential burglary occurred in the 6500 block of Eastern Avenue. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Chief Ronald Ricucci from the Takoma Park Police Department announced the arrest of Eyosef Elshadi Woldou, an 18 year old male of Takoma Park, Maryland, on November 14, 2007. Units received a call for a suspicious occupied vehicle parked at the dead-end of Barclay Avenue. Upon approach of the vehicle, two subjects fled on foot from the backseat. The driver, identified as Mr. Woldou, did not attempt to flee and was detained. Incident to arrest, officers searched the vehicle and recovered marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Wouldou was arrested without incident and transported to the Montgomery County Detention Center, where he was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) Paraphernalia. The vehicle, which did not belong to Mr. Woldou, but was not stolen, was impounded. Chief Ricucci praises the citizen(s) who called in the suspicious vehicle, as well as the officers for their excellent follow through.
Attempted Car Jacking
On November 15th at approximately 5:15 p.m., units responded to the Takoma Park Campus of Montgomery College for reports of an attempted car jacking. The victim parked her car in the Falcon Hall parking lot and was walking towards the building. She was approached by the suspect who demanded her keys. The victim began yelling and the suspect fled to a waiting vehicle operated by another subject. The suspect vehicle fled the parking lot onto Takoma Avenue. The victim was not harmed and no property was taken. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately late teens to early 20’s, 6’1-6’2. The suspect vehicle is described as a four door gray, mid-sized sedan with tinted windows. Investigation continues under case #07064988. On November 3, between 3:30 pm and 9:30 pm in the 300 block of Elm Avenue, a residential burglary occurred. An exterior door had been left unlocked by the homeowner. Property was taken. 07062409
On November 3 at 12:10 p.m., in the 6700 block of New Hampshire Avenue, a strong arm robbery occurred. As an adult female was boarding a metro bus, a subject grabbed her bag and began running. The victim turned and saw the subject running with several other subjects and chased them for a short while before two of the subjects (both black males, 26-27 years old, both wearing corn rows) ran back to the victim and told her they would help retrieve her bag. The two subjects left, without returning the bag, before police arrived The suspect who grabbed the bag is described as a Hispanic male, short, approximately 16 years old, wearing a black hooded sweat shirt. 07062263

As the victim, an adult male, was entering his motel room, five subjects approached him, pointed a handgun at him and demanded he hand over his money. The victim gave them his wallet. The subjects then fled in a white Jeep Liberty with tinted windows. The victim was not injured. The subjects were described as black males, 5'7 to 5'9, thin. On November 7 at 3:00 pm in the 200 block of Tulip Ave., an armed robbery was attempted. An adult female was walking alone when a subject approached her, pulled out a gun and demanded her money. The victim told him that she had no money. The suspect then held the gun to her head and started to search her pockets. At this point the victim screamed at the subject who then fled on foot. The victim was not injured and no property was taken. The suspect was described as a black male, about 16-18 years old, 5'4", 125 lbs., dark skinned, wearing a navy blue hooded jacket, dark blue jeans and dark shoes. 07063117

Attempted Armed Robbery (gun used)
On November 7th at approximately 3:00 p.m., units responded to Tulip Avenue for reports of an attempted armed robbery. The victim was walking on Tulip Avenue when she was approached by a young black male. The suspect pointed a gun at her and demanded money. When the victim indicated she didn’t have any, the suspect started checking her pockets. The victim yelled at the suspect, to which he responded by running away towards Cedar Avenue. The victim was not harmed physically and the suspect obtained no property. A K9 responded to track the area with negative results. The suspect is described as being approximately 16-18 years old, 5’4, 125 lbs, dark skinned, wearing a navy blue hoodie jacket, dark blue colored blue jeans and possibly black shoes. The gun displayed is described as black with a round, angle-shaped barrel, possibly a pellet gun. While the victim’s courage is commended, the police advise against antagonizing a suspect in this situation, which could prove physically detrimental to a victim. Assault and Attempted Abduction
On November 6th at approximately 11:30 p.m., units responded to the 8000 block of Carroll Avenue just before Merrimack Drive for a report of an assault and attempted abduction. The victim was walking and noticed a vehicle pull along side of her and then continue a short distance in front of her. The suspect exited the passenger side of the vehicle and grabbed the victim attempting to put her in the vehicle. The victim broke free and called police from a business at University Blvd. The victim indicated that there was another individual in the vehicle and both suspects were speaking Spanish with each other. The suspects were last seen eastbound on University Blvd. East. The vehicle is described as a black Nissan X-Terra with a roof rack and push bumper. The first suspect is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5’11, 250 lbs., wearing a black nylon zipper warm-up type jacket and blue jeans. The second suspect is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5’11, 250 lbs., wearing a gray hoodie and blue jeans. Investigation continues by TPPD under case #07063000. The victim was approached by five black males with a black handgun. The suspects demanded money, to which the victim complied. Property was also taken. The suspects fled in a white Jeep Liberty with tinted windows. The vehicle was last seen going south on New Hampshire Avenue. The suspects are described as 5’7 to 5’9, with four of the suspects wearing dark clothing. Burglary
On November 6th at approximately 2:33 a.m. units were checking businesses in the 6400 block of New Hampshire Avenue when a rear door to a business was discovered open. Vandalism and Theft from Motor Vehicle
On November 4th at approximately 11:30 p.m., units responded to the 7000 block of Westmoreland Avenue for reports of vandalism and theft from a motor vehicle. After investigation, an arrest was made. The suspect was arrested without incident and transported to the Montgomery County Detention Center.
Strong Armed Robbery
On November 3rd at approximately 12:10 p.m., units responded to the 6700 block of New Hampshire Avenue near Poplar Avenue for reports of a citizen strong armed robbery. The victim was preparing to board a metro bus when an individual grabbed her bag and began running. The victim turned and saw the individual running with several other persons. The victim chased the individuals up Conway Avenue towards Circle Avenue. Two of the individuals (both black males, approximately 26-27 years old, both wearing corn rows) ran back to the victim and advised they would help her retrieve her bag. The four individuals then gathered behind an unknown address on Conway Avenue. The victim notified the police. Prince George’s County Police Officers arrived, however, the individuals had left prior to their arrival. The suspect who grabbed the bag is described by the victim as a Hispanic male, short, approximately 16 years old, wearing a black hooded sweat shirt. In an unrelated incident, a strong armed robbery occurred in the District of Columbia at Carroll Street and Maple Street on November 5th at approximately 1:30 a.m. Two black males took the victim’s wallet and fled. The first suspect was described as tall and skinny and the second suspect was described as heavy-set. The District of Columbia Police responded and handled the incident.
