Crime Reports
On November 17, between 7:10 am and 1:50 pm in the unit block of Philadelphia Avenue, a residential burglary occurred. A window air conditioner on a first floor window was removed in order to gain entry. Property was taken. 05-14452
On November 17, between 9:30 am and 7:25 pm in the 7600 block of Maple
Avenue, a residential burglary occurred. A deadbolt lock was pried open and the door forced open. Property was taken. 05-14465
Crime Reports (cont'd)
On November 17 at 9:10 pm in the 400 block of Boston Avenue, an armed robbery was attempted. An adult female was walking home when a dark blue minivan pulled up behind her. A subject exited the minivan and immediately approached her, displayed a gun and demanded her bag. The victim refused to hand over her property and screamed. The suspect then hit her with the gun and fled in the minivan. The victim received treatment for a minor injury. The suspect was described as a black male, in his 20's, 5'10", 180 lbs, medium build, medium complexion, with dreadlocks, wearing black pants, a black coat and a white shirt. 05-14468
Between September 9, time unknown and November 19 at 8:00 pm in the 7600 lock of Maple Avenue, an auto theft occurred. It is unknown what method was used to steal the 1994 Chrysler minivan. 05-14551
On November 18 at 9:38 pm in the 7000 block of Westmoreland Avenue an
adult female was walking alone when a subject approached her from behind, implied he had a gun and demanded money. The victim handed over cash and the subject walked away. The victim was not injured. The suspect was described as a black male, 17-19 years old, 5'5", 160lbs, thin build, medium complexion, short hair, wearing a dark ski cap and a puffy coat. 05-14514
On November 19 between 12:00 am and 8:21 am in the 7400 block of New
Hampshire Avenue, an auto theft occurred. The keys to the victim's 2004 Honda Civic had been stolen from her coat pocket at a party she attended earlier. 05-14523
Between November 20 at 12:00 pm and November 21 at 6:30 am in the 7500
block of Jackson Avenue, a burglary occurred. A detached shed was entered through an unlocked door. Property was taken. 05-14616.

On Nov. 17 at about 9 p.m. a woman was the victim of an attempt armed robbery in the 400 block of Boston Avenue. A dark blue minivan pulled up behind her as she was walking. A suspect exited a sliding door of the vehicle and demanded property while displaying a weapon. When the woman screamed, the suspect struck her and then fled in the vehicle.
No property was taken; the victim was treated for minor injuries and released from a local hospital.
The suspect is described as a black male, about 20 years old, 5'10", 165 lbs., with hair styled in long dreadlocks, wearing black pants, black jacket and white shirt.
A similar vehicle and suspect were involved in a car jacking from a female victim in Silver Spring about 9:45 p.m. Thursday.

On November 12 at 5:02 am in the 1300 block of University Blvd., an adult male was arrested and charged with 1st Degree Assault, Possession of a firearm, Possession of CDS and Use of a Handgun in the Commission of Crime. 05-14255

On November 15 at 12:28 pm in the 7500 block of Maple Avenue, an adult male was arrested on an open Montgomery County warrant for a 2nd Degree Assault. 05-14374
On November 11, between 1:00 am and 1:00 pm in the 1100 block of Linden Avenue, an auto theft occurred. The keys to the 1993 Ford Explorer were stolen from the owner’s home by a subject who was known to the owner. 05-14257
On November 14 at 1:25 pm in the 7300 block of Maple Avenue, an auto theft was attempted. The door lock of the 2000 Dodge Caravan was damaged in the attempt. 05-14339

On November 5 at 10:34 in the 8600 block of Flower Avenue, an adult male was charged with Possession of CDS and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia. 05-14007
On November 7 at 12:02 am in the 7500 block of Maple Avenue, an adult male was charged with Rape, Kidnaping, two counts of 1st Degree Assault, False Imprisonment, Carjacking and two counts of Armed Robbery after police received a call for an incident that occurred in the 7400 block of New Hampshire Avenue. 05-14010.

Between November 3 at 6:30 pm and November 4 at 10:30 am in the 7700 block of Garland Avenue, an auto theft occurred. It is unknown what method was used to steal the 1997 Honda Civic. 05-13913
Between November 7 at 10:00 am and November 9 at 4:17 pm in the 600 block of Elm Avenue, an auto theft occurred. It is unknown what method was used to steal the 1998 Plymouth Voyager. 05-14139
Between November 9 at 5:15 pm and November 10 at 6:45 am in the 8200 block of Roanoke Avenue, an auto theft was attempted. A door lock and the ignition of the 1982 Cadillac Eldorado were damaged in the attempt. 05-14171

On October 28 between 12:45 pm and 1:00 pm in the 6800 block of New Hampshire Avenue, an auto theft occurred. It is unknown what method was used to steal the 1998 Jeep Cherokee. 05-13705
Between October 28 at 4:00 pm and October 29 at 11:00 am in the 400 block of Belford Place, an auto theft was attempted. A door lock and the ignition of the 2005 Dodge Ram1500 were damaged in the attempt. Property was taken from the vehicle. 05-13777
On October 31, between 10:00 am and 6:50 pm in the 300 block of Ethan Allen Avenue, a burglary occurred. The front door of the residence was forced open to gain entry. The door jam was damaged. Property was taken. 05-13791
Between October 30 at 6:00 pm and October 31 at 6:25 am in the 6900 block of New Hampshire Avenue, an auto theft occurred. It is unknown what method was used to steal the 2004 GMC C4500 truck. 05-13798
Between October 30 at 2:00 pm and October 31 at 7:00 am in the unit block of Freemont Avenue, an auto theft occurred. It is unknown what method was used to steal the 1995 Dodge Caravan. 05-13759
On October 31, between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm in the 6700 block of Kansas Lane, a burglary occurred. The front door was forced open to gain entry. Property was taken. 05-13771
On November 2 between 12:00 am and 6:00 am in the 8000 block of Maple Avenue, a burglary occurred. The lock on a detached shed was broken off to gain entry. Property was taken. 05-13841
Between November 1 at 6:00 pm and November 2 at 7:00 am in the 8000 block of Sligo Creek Parkway, a burglary occurred. The lock on a detached shed was broken off to gain entry. Property was taken. 05-13858
On November 2 at 10:26 pm in the unit block of Ritchie Avenue, an armed robbery occurred. An adult male who was attempting to deliver a pizza was confronted by a subject in a threatening manner. The victim managed to spray the subject with pepper spray before a second subject hit him several times with a pipe then removed property from his pockets and fled on foot. The victim was admitted to a hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The suspects were described as black males. Suspect one was 5'5", thin build, wearing a blue hooded jacket. No further descriptions were given. 05-13869
Between November 2 at 7:00 pm and November 3 at 5:30 am in the 400 block of Boyd Avenue an auto theft occurred. It is unknown what method was used to steal the 1998 Acura Integra. 05-13872

On October 22 at 11:58 am in the 8600 block of Flower Avenue, an adult male was charged with Trademark Counterfeiting, Prohibited Transfer of Recorded Sounds or Images, Resisting Arrests and Soliciting without a License. 05-13444
On October 27 at 9:50 am in the 1100 block of University Blvd., an adult male was arrested on an open Montgomery County Warrant for Failure to Appear in Court on an alcohol related charge. 05-13630
Crime Reports
On October 21 at 11:49 pm in the 1400 block of New Hampshire Avenue, a first degree assault occurred. The victim, an adult male pulled his vehicle over after being hit by another vehicle with several subjects inside, who then sped off. The victim was speaking to another citizen immediately afterward when both heard the sound of gunshots and the victim realized that he had been hit. The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The suspect vehicle was described as a blue Toyota Corolla. There was no description given for the subjects in the vehicle. 05-13424
On October 22 at 12:38 am in the 7500 block of Maple Avenue, an armed robbery occurred. An adult female exited her car and was attempting to find the keys to her residence when she was grabbed from behind and forced down to the ground. A subject pointed a small black handgun at the victim and demanded her purse. After the victim handed over her property, the subject fled on foot. The victim was not injured. The suspect was described as 5'9", 165 lbs., medium complexion and spoke with an African accent. He was wearing a dark jacket and blue jeans. 05-13427
On October 22 at 5:09 pm in the 6300 block of New Hampshire Avenue, an auto theft was attempted. The owner of the 2005 Chrysler Impala observed a subject in his parked car tampering with the steering column. When the subject approached, the subject ran to a gold Chrysler waiting nearby and fled. A door lock was damaged. The suspect was described as a black male, no further description given. 05-13452
On October 26 at 11:40 am in the 1000 block of Sligo Creek Parkway, a burglary occurred. The front door of the home was forced open to gain entry. Property was taken. 05-13598
On October 26, between 8:45 am and 12:30 pm in the 900 block of Larch Avenue, a burglary occurred. A basement door was forced open to gain entry. Property was taken. 05-13604
Between October 24 at 9:00 pm and October 25 at 8:00 am at the intersection of Cedar and Tulip Avenues, an auto theft occurred. It is unknown what method was used to steal the 1999 Pontiac Grand Am. 05-13578
