Man Struck at Bus Shelter

A 70-year-old Pennsylvania man was injured when a Ride-on bus skidded into a bus stop at New Hampshire Avenue and Merwood in Takoma Park at about 11:23 a.m. today. The man was treated at the scene for lacerations and transported to a local hospital where he is in fair condition.

The bus was stopping for a signal light, when its rear end struck the bus shelter in which the man was waiting. The man was injured by parts of the falling shelter. A citizen flagged down a nearby Takoma Park officer who administered first aid. The man was treated and transported by Montgomery County Fire Rescue.

Weather was considered a contributing factor. No further information about the pedestrian is available. #
