Robbery
An armed robbery occurred Saturday, June 13 at approximately 9:00 a.m. in the 7600 block of New Hampshire Avenue (Banner Cleaners). Two suspects entered the business through the front door. The first suspect assaulted the victim and took property. The second suspect walked to the rear of the business and took property. Both suspects fled to the rear of the business to a blue Ford Crown Victoria.
Through investigative efforts, and working with outside agencies, detectives were able to ascertain the location of the suspects. The investigation led detectives to the 3700 block of 10th Street, N.W., Washington, D.C., which is a recreation park. Surveillance was established and the suspects as described by the victim were observed in the park. Both suspects were apprehended. They were in possession of property that belonged to the victim and her business. The two juveniles, 15 and 16 years of age, are being charged as adults with various offenses, including armed robbery, robbery, first degree assault, second degree assault, theft under $500, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, and conspiracy to commit first degree assault.
An armed robbery occurred Wednesday, June 17 at 10:10 p.m. in the 900 block of East West Highway (Jason’s Sub Shop). The suspect entered the business, walked behind the counter and fired a shot into the ceiling with a small, black semi-automatic handgun. Suspect demanded money before fleeing on foot across East West Highway towards Red Top Road. Victim followed the suspect at which time the suspect fired several rounds at the victim’s vehicle. Suspect then fled in black, possible Ford SUV with D.C. tag. Suspect: B/M, dark complexion, 5' 11, 150-170 lbs., red and black jacket, white t-shirt.

500 block of Elm Avenue, between Sunday, June 14 at 9:30 p.m. and Monday, June 15 at 12:00 p.m. No forced entry. Property taken.
400 block of Lincoln Avenue, between Sunday, June 14 at 10:00 p.m. and Monday, June 15 at 7:45 a.m. Forced entry. Property taken.
Arrests:
On Friday, June 12 at 2:43 a.m. in the 7600 block of Maple Avenue, an adult male was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana.
On Sunday, June 14 at 1:35 a.m. in the 7600 block of New Hampshire Avenue, an adult female was arrested and charged with two counts of Theft Under $500 and numerous traffic offenses.
On Monday, June 15 at 3:38 p.m. in the 7600 block of New Hampshire Avenue, an adult male was arrested and charged with Drinking in Public.
On Monday, June 15 at 4:13 p.m. in the 7600 block of New Hampshire Avenue, an adult male was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct.
On Monday, June 15 at 9:00 p.m. in the 1100 block of University Boulevard, an adult male was arrested and charged with two counts of Theft Under $100.
On Tuesday, June 16 at 5:12 p.m. in the 7600 block of University Boulevard, an adult male and an adult female were arrested and charged with Possession of Open Container of Alcohol.
