Chief Ronald A. Ricucci from the Takoma Park Police Department announces the arrest of Basilio Gomez-Vasquez, 34, of Silver Spring, Maryland, for attempt 4th degree burglary.
On May 31, 2009, at approximately 12:50 a.m., Takoma Park Police responded to the 8100 block of Carroll Avenue, for reports of an attempted burglary while the residents were at home. Gomez-Vasquez attempted to enter the residence through a side basement window. Upon arrival of the officers, Gomez-Vasquez attempted to flee on foot. He was apprehended at the intersection of Anne Street and Lockney Avenue.
Gomez-Vasquez was arrested and transported to the Montgomery Central Processing Unit for an appearance before a District Court Commissioner.
