Weekly Crime Report: February 26 - March 5, 2009

T1 Beat:

Robbery
A commercial armed robbery occurred Monday, March 2 at 7:22 p.m. in the 6400 block of New Hampshire Avenue, Texaco. A male subject entered the establishment and stole merchandise. The suspect approached the teller’s booth, opened the door, demanded funds and became engaged in a physical confrontation with the victim. Suspect armed with unknown sharp object. During the struggle, the victim sustained minor non-life threatening injuries. The suspect fled on foot east across New Hampshire Ave to the rear of the commercial businesses into Prince Georges County. Suspect: B/M, 30-40, 6'0-6'1, medium build, wearing a dark North Face jacket and a black knit hat.

Vandalism to VehiclesBetween Thursday, February 27 at 9:30 p.m. and Friday, February 28 at 3:30 a.m. an unknown suspect(s) slashed the tires on TEN vehicles in the 6900 and 7000 block of Westmoreland Avenue, 100 block of Elm Avenue, and 6900 block of Allegheny Avenue.

Auto Theft
7700 block of Maple Avenue, between Saturday, February 28 at 10:00 p.m. and Monday, March 2 at 5:00 a.m. ’03 Range Rover

T3 Beat:

Assault
An aggravated assault occurred Tuesday, March 3 at 9:47 p.m. in the 7600 block of New Hampshire Avenue. Victim struck in shoulder by paintball shot from a moving vehicle.

Auto Theft
7300 block of New Hampshire Avenue, Monday, March 2 between 9:00 p.m. and 11:35 p.m. ’99 Ford Crown Victoria

Arrests:
On Monday, March 2 at 11:10 p.m. in the 900 block of East West Highway, an adult male was arrested and charged with Possession of Cocaine.

On Tuesday, March 3 at 12:19 p.m. in the 1300 block of University Boulevard, an adult male was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct.
