COMMUNITY ADVISORY - Attempt Citizen Armed Robbery

On February 18, 2009, at approximately 11:55 p.m., Takoma Park Police responded to Beech Avenue and Sycamore Avenue for reports of an attempt citizen armed robbery. The victim was walking home from the Metro, walking down Carroll Street to Carroll Avenue, turning right on to Sycamore Avenue and then left on to Beech Avenue. While on Beech Avenue, the victim was approached by two suspects in a vehicle. As the vehicle drove by him, the suspect in the passenger seat rolled down the window and pointed a shiny handgun, possibly a revolver, at him. The victim fled along Beech Avenue back to Sycamore Avenue where he turned right towards Carroll Avenue. The suspect vehicle continued to drive down Beech Avenue. The victim contacted the Takoma Park Police. The first suspect is described as a black male, 30-35 years old, 160-170 pounds, medium build, last seen wearing a black wool hat. The second suspect is described as a black male, 30-35 years old, 160-170 pounds, medium build, last seen wearing a black wool hat and armed with a revolver.
