Crime Report: December 4-11, 2008

T1 Beat:

Robbery
An armed robbery occurred Saturday, December 6 at 10:12 a.m. in the 6400 block of New Hampshire Avenue. Two B/Ms entered the business through a rear door, assaulted one victim with a handgun and took money from his pockets. Suspect 1 approached the second victim and took money from him while the Suspect 2 forced the female owner to open the register. Suspect 2 took money from the register and both suspects fled through the front door to a maroon/red vehicle with a spoiler and tinted windows (possibly a Dodge Stratus or Pontiac Grand Am). S1: B/M, 22-25, 6’0, 175-185 lbs., black ski mask, gray hoodie, carrying black handgun. S2: B/M, 25-35, 5’11, 160-170 lbs., wearing black jacket. *Similar suspect and vehicle description as residential burglary Friday, December 5 in the 6400 block of 5th Avenue.

Burglary – Residential
7200 block of Maple Avenue, Friday, December 5 between 4:50 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. No forced entry. No property taken. Residence occupied during burglary. Victim observed unknown male, 5’8-6’0 in residence.

6400 block of 5th Avenue, Friday, December 5 between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Attempted forced entry. No property taken. Witness saw two B/M in red Dodge Stratus with spoiler and modified exhaust parked in front of residence. S1: B/M, 21-22, 5’11-6’0, 180-190 lbs., medium build. S2: B/M, 25-30, beard.

T2 Beat:

Robbery
A strong-arm robbery occurred Thursday, December 4 at 8:00 p.m. in the 7600 block of Maple Avenue. The victim was delivering pizza to an apartment and took the stairs where he observed a H/M with a W/F. The victim delivered the pizza and was met by a B/M at the stairwell exit. A second B/M approached the victim from behind and took the victim’s property. The H/M and W/F previously observed in the building joined the B/M suspects, then exited the lobby towards the parking lot. S1: H/M, 24, 5’6, 200 lbs., muscular build. S2: W/F, 20, 5’2, thin build. S3: B/M, 20, 6’0, 150 lbs., heavy build, dread locks. S4: B/M, 20, 5’6, 220 lbs., muscular build, light complexion, curly hair.

Burglary – Residential
Unit block of Sherman Avenue, Wednesday, December 10 between 4:45 a.m. and 4:49 a.m. No forced entry. No property taken. Residence occupied during burglary. Victim observed a B/M, 30-40, 5’7-5’9, 170-180 lbs., very short black hair in residence.

Larceny – From Auto
Three thefts from vehicles occurred this week in which the suspect(s) broke a vehicle window to obtain property: 7600 block Carroll Avenue, 8400 block Flower Avenue, and 700 block Kennebec Avenue.

Auto Theft
7300 block of Flower Avenue, Wednesday, December 10 between 12:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. ’07 custom Ford van.

T3 Beat:

Burglary – Residential
(2) 1000 block of Sligo Creek Parkway, Friday, December 5 between 7:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Forced entry. Property taken.

Larceny
1300 block of University Boulevard, Thursday, December 4 at 6:22 a.m. Defendant walked into 7-11 and stole several items. The defendant fled and was later placed under arrest in the 1000 block of University Boulevard and charged with Theft less than $100, Resisting Arrest, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Larceny – From Vehicle
7900 block of Lockney Avenue, between Tuesday, December 9 at 9:30 p.m. and Wednesday, December 10 at 8:30 a.m. Forced entry. No property taken.

Arrests:
On Thursday, December 4 at 1:20 a.m. in the 8000 block of Wildwood Drive, an adult female was arrested and charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and False Statement to Peace Officer.

On Sunday, December 7 at 3:00 a.m. in the 900 block of University Boulevard, an adult male was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct.

On Sunday, December 7 at 2:05 a.m. in the 6900 block of New Hampshire Avenue, an adult male was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence.

On Tuesday, December 9 at 12:59 a.m. in the 1000 block of University Boulevard, an adult male was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct, Failure to Obey Lawful Order, and Disturbing the Peace.

On Tuesday, December 9 at 1:43 a.m. in the area of Chicago Avenue and Boston Avenue, an adult female was arrested and charged with False Statement to Peace Officer.
