Weekly Crime Report: November 26-December 4, 2008

T1 Beat:

Robbery/Carjacking
A strong-arm robbery/carjacking occurred in the 6900 block of Carroll Avenue, Friday, November 28 at 10:55 a.m. Victim (DHL employee) delivering package when 3 B/Ms approached and assaulted him. The suspects took the victim’s keys and drove off in his commercial vehicle. Two of the subjects entered the victim’s vehicle, but the third could not fit and ran towards a waiting black Ford Expedition, occupied by a fourth subject. Property was taken along with the commercial DHL vehicle. The vehicle was later recovered in Washington, D.C. Suspect 1: B/M, early 20’s, 5’9 - 6’0, 140-160 pounds, wearing a green/gray jacket with dark pants, possibly cuffed dark jeans, and black boots. Suspect 2: B/M, early 20’s, 5’7 - 5’9, 150-160 pounds, wearing a black North Face coat with a dark scarf covering his forehead and mouth, blue jeans, black gloves and black tennis shoes. Suspect 3: B/M, early 20’s, 5’9 - 6’0, wearing a black North Face jacket, blue jeans and black boots. Suspect 4: Unknown description.

Larceny – From Auto
100 block of Elm Avenue, Wednesday, November 26 between 9:35 p.m. and 11:40 p.m. Forced entry. Property taken.

7400 block of Maple Avenue, Sunday, November 30 between 1:01 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Forced entry. No property taken.

T2 Beat:

Burglary – Residential
100 block of Grant Avenue, Tuesday, December 2 between 7:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. No forced entry. Property taken.

Larceny – From Auto
Five thefts from vehicles occurred between Wednesday, November 26 at 12:00 p.m. and Thursday, November 27 at 11:40 a.m. Vehicles targeted were in the 600/700 block of Kennebec Avenue and the 700 block of Erie Avenue. Suspect(s) broke vehicle windows and removed property.

700 block of Chaney Avenue, between Sunday, November 30 at 6:30 p.m. and Monday, December 1 at 9:45 a.m. Forced entry. Property taken.

T3 Beat:

Larceny
1100 block of University Boulevard, Monday, December 1 at 4:00 p.m. Suspect stole unattended wallet at Chevy Chase Bank.

Larceny – From Auto
7400 block of New Hampshire Avenue, Thursday, November 27 between 8:20 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. No forced entry. Property taken.

Arrests:
On Friday, November 28 at 1:55 p.m. in the 7600 block of New Hampshire Avenue, two adult males were arrested and charged with Open Alcoholic Beverage.

On Friday, November 28 at 6:30 p.m. in the 900 block of University Boulevard, an adult male was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence.

On Saturday, November 29 at 3:00 a.m. in the 8100 block of New Hampshire Avenue, an adult male was arrested and charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On Monday, December 1 at 2:00 p.m. in the 7400 block of New Hampshire Avenue, an adult male and two juvenile males were arrested and charged with Motor Vehicle Theft.

On Thursday, December 4 at 6:22 a.m. in the 1300 block of University Boulevard, an adult male was arrested and charged with Theft, Resisting Arrest, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
