Chief Ronald A. Ricucci from the Takoma Park Police Department announces the arrest of William Henry Lattimore, III, 33, of Washington, D.C.
On November 26, 2008*, at approximately 11:28 p.m., police responded to a property damage crash that had just occurred. Just prior to their arrival, a subject was pointing a gun at the struck vehicle’s driver. A witness indicated that there were two black males wearing black coats running down Jackson Avenue towards Sligo Creek Parkway. A plainclothes unit saw two subjects fitting the description and attempted to initiate a stop. The subjects fled and police pursued them on foot. Lattimore ran north on Carroll Avenue at which time a stolen Glock 17 fell from his person. Shortly after, he was apprehended. Police discovered several items of evidentiary value during a vehicle impound inventory search of the vehicle that Lattimore had been driving.
Lattimore was arrested and charged with possession and assault with a firearm and traffic violations. He was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit for an appearance before a District Court Commissioner.
