COMMUNITY ADVISORY - Strong Armed Robbery

On November 2, 2008, at approximately 7:05 p.m., Takoma Park Police responded to the 6800 block of New Hampshire Avenue at the Best Nails II for reports of a citizen strong armed robbery. The victims indicated they were securing the doors to the business when two males approached them from behind. The suspects assaulted one of the victims and took property from both. The suspects then fled in a dark-colored, unknown make and model vehicle that was waiting for them and headed south on New Hampshire Avenue. The suspects are described as follows: (1) black male, approximately 5’6, wearing a red shirt, black pants, and black do-rag/knit cap; (2) black male, approximately 6’0, wearing a white t-shirt, black pants, and black do-rag/knit cap; and (3) black male, approximately 6’0, unknown clothing, and black do-rag/knit cap. The victims were not seriously injured.

Takoma Park Police believe this strong armed robbery may be linked to two others that occurred on November 1, 2008, at approximately 9:07 p.m., in the 7600 block of New Hampshire Avenue at the Red Apple Market and on November 2, 2008, at 12:05 p.m. in the 7600 block of New Hampshire Avenue at the Citibank lot.
