On October 25, 2008, at approximately 8:55 p.m., Takoma Park Police responded to Sherman Avenue for reports of a burglary that had occurred earlier. The victim indicated that she heard noises in her living room between 2:00 and 3:00 a.m. The victim walked into the living room to find an open window. Property was taken. While investigating this burglary, police were approached by a neighbor who indicated that on two separate occasions, an unknown subject had attempted to open the rear sliding glass door which leads to the basement. The victim had been awakened both times to the sound of the dog barking. The victim was unclear on which dates these two attempts occurred, but thought one may have been on October 16, 2008.
