FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
On July 4, 2008, at approximately 1:29 a.m., Takoma Park Police responded to the 6900 block of New Hampshire Avenue (southbound – just past Devonshire Road) for reports of a female lying in the middle of the roadway. Officers arrived and located the victim who was unresponsive. The victim was transported to Suburban Hospital where she is in critical condition. Also located on the scene was a Dalmatian dog who was lying approximately 10-15 feet from the victim and unable to move. The dog did not survive and was transported by Montgomery County Animal Control Humane Society. Witnesses indicate that the vehicle that struck the victim was a black Honda with Maryland tags.
