FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
On June 20, 2008, at approximately 11:42 a.m., Takoma Park Police conducted a routine traffic stop in the 1300 block of Holton Lane, Takoma Park, Maryland. The driver, Braxton Boyd, 19, of White Oak, Maryland, was found in possession of one Amphetamine pill with a street name of "ecstasy" or the "love drug." Further investigation revealed that Boyd and the front seat passenger, Kenneth McFadden-Baldwin, 18, of Silver Spring, Maryland, were renting a room at the Quality Inn on New Hampshire Avenue. Boyd was transported to the station for processing while officers accompanied Baldwin to the motel room in an attempt to acquire proper identification. Once at the motel room, Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) was observed in plain view and Baldwin was placed under arrest. The quantity of CDS indicated an intent to distribute. Boyd and Baldwin were charged with possession of Amphetamines, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit for an appearance before a District Court Commissioner.
