FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

On June 15, 2008, two juveniles, 12 and 13 years of age, both of Washington, D.C., were arrested and charged with attempted stolen auto, possession of burglary tools (rogue vagabond), destruction of property, false statement to an officer and child in need of supervision. Additional charges were brought by the Montgomery County Police Department. At approximately 3:51 p.m., Takoma Park Police were dispatched to the Shell Gas Station on University Blvd. for two juveniles being held by the Montgomery County Police for attempted theft. Upon arrival, it was determined that the two juveniles had been sitting in a vehicle that was parked in the gas station garage lot for repair services; the ignition was punched. Both juveniles were transported to the police station for processing and then transported to Noyes Juvenile Facility in Rockville, Maryland, pending a court hearing.
