The statewide 2008 Chiefs’ Challenge - Click it or Ticket, which emphasizes safety restraint enforcement, began on May 1 and ended on June 3. Chief Ronald Ricucci would like to congratulate Cpl. Michelle Holmes, Pfc. Joseph Butler, Pvt. Angela Donovan, and Pvt. Samuel Villegas, of the Takoma Park Police Department, for issuing a total of 315 seatbelt violation tickets. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Click it or Ticket is the most successful seat belt enforcement campaign ever, helping create the highest national seat belt usage rate of 82 percent.
