On May 30, 2008, two 17 year old juveniles, both of Washington, D.C., were arrested at Kansas Avenue and Chillum Avenue in Washington,, D.C. This arrest is in connection to a robbery that occurred in Takoma Park, Maryland, on May 30 in the 6400 block of Kansas Lane. Once a lookout was broadcast for the suspects and vehicle being used, the Montgomery County Police Department called the City of Takoma Park Police Department indicating a similar robbery on May 29, 2008. They revealed a tag number for the vehicle which had been stolen on May 28, 2008, from the District of Columbia. Montgomery County officials had entered the vehicle, a 2001 blue Chrysler mini-van, as a felony vehicle. That vehicle was spotted by Prince George’s County Police in the 4900 block of Lasalle Road, and, upon trying to conduct a felony stop, the suspects fled and crashed the vehicle at the intersection of Kansas Avenue and Chillum Avenue in Northeast Washington, D.C. Both suspects are being held for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and as fugitives from justice pending arrest warrants from the City of Takoma Park, Montgomery County and Prince George’s County.
