COMMUNITY INFORMATION - Weekly Crime Summary: May 8 - 15, 2008

T1 Beat:

Robbery
An armed robbery occurred in the 7100 block of Cedar Avenue, Sunday, May 11 at 12:36 p.m. Victim was repairing a window for a resident and parked his van on the street. The victim was in the process of walking to his van when he noticed a B/M looking into the passenger side window of the vehicle. The victim approached the rear door of his van when a second suspect attacked him from behind. Suspect 2, a B/M, placed the victim into a headlock and punched the right side of his face. Suspect 1 produced a handgun, pointed it at the victim’s head and demanded money. The suspects took the victim’s wallet and cell phone, then entered a gold colored, late 90’s model, Honda Accord and fled.

Burglary – Residential
7000 block of Eastern Avenue, Thursday, May 15 between 3:50 p.m. and 3:59 p.m. Forced entry. Property taken.

Larceny – From Auto
6600 block of Cockerille Avenue, Monday, May 12 between 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Forced entry. Property taken.

Burglary – Commercial
7700 block of Maple Avenue, between Wednesday, May 14 at 4:30 p.m. and Thursday, May 15 at 10:00 a.m. Forced entry. No property taken.

Larceny – From Auto
7700 block of Maple Avenue, between Sunday, May 11 at 11:00 p.m. and Monday, May 12 at 5:45 a.m. Forced entry. Property taken.

T3 Beat:

Robbery
A strong-arm robbery occurred in the 7300 block of New Hampshire Avenue, Thursday, May 8 at 9:35 p.m. Victim on the sidewalk walking towards building when a silver 2-door vehicle (possibly a Toyota Camry), passed by him. Two suspects got out of the vehicle and approached victim. Suspect 1 said “Can I ask you something?”, then punched victim in the face. Both suspects began punching and kicking victim, who fell to the ground. Suspects obtained victim’s property, got back into their vehicle, then fled. S1: B/M, round face, 30-40 years of age, 6’0”, 200 lbs., wearing a black t-shirt and light colored pants. S2: B/M, 30-40 years of age, 6’0”, 180-200 lbs., wearing a light blue t-shirt and light colored pants.

Assault
A simple assault occurred in the 7400 block of New Hampshire Avenue, Saturday, May 10 at 2:00 a.m. Subjects involved in verbal altercation that became physical.

Larceny
1300 block of University Boulevard, Sunday, May 11 between 2:50 a.m. and 2:59 a.m. Male and female suspect stole merchandise and fled business.

Arrests:
On Thursday, May 8 at 8:13 p.m. in the 7600 block of New Hampshire Avenue, an adult male was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct and Possession of an Open Alcohol Container.

On Friday, May 9 at 7:04 p.m. in the 1100 block of University Boulevard, an adult male was arrested and charged with Possession of an Open Alcohol Container.

On Saturday, May 10 at 6:10 p.m. in the 1100 block of University Boulevard, an adult male was arrested and charged with Possession of an Open Alcohol Container.

On Saturday, May 10 at 9:15 p.m. in the 7400 block of New Hampshire Avenue, an adult male and an adult female were arrested and charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On Saturday, May 10 at 11:34 p.m. in the 1100 block of University Boulevard, an adult male was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.

On Sunday, May 11 at 1:46 a.m. in the 7400 block of New Hampshire Avenue, an adult male was arrested and charged with Possession With Intent to Distribute Cocaine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Cocaine.

On Wednesday, May 14 at 9:43 p.m. in the 7600 block of New Hampshire Avenue, an adult male was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana.

On Thursday, May 15 at 9:24 p.m. in the 7500 block of New Hampshire Avenue, an adult male was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
