The National Weather Service has extended the FOOD WARNING for Montgomery County until 12:15pm EDT Today. At 6:28, Doppler radar indicated between 3 and 4 inches of rain has fallen across the County. This rainfall has lead to significant flooding throughout the region and swift water rescues are occurring in several areas. The following roads a closed due to flooding or high water:

MD 109 BTWN THURSTON RD and SLATE QUARRY RD
MD 182 EAST/WEST at MD 97
River Road from Mount Nebo to Westward Rd
Brookville Rd at Georgia Ave
Edwards Ferry Rd
Kensington Pkwy from Beach Dr to I-495
Jones Mill Rd from Farmington Dr to East-West Hwy
Wildcat Rd at Davis Mill Rd
Loghouse Rd
Beach Dr
Power outages have disabled some traffic lights. Residents should expect continuing heavy rain for the next few hours. Do not try to cross flooded roads. Use caution while driving.
SKYWARN spotters are requested to relay all flood reports to the Montgomery County Office of Emergency Management and the NWS office in Sterling.
