COMMUNITY INFORMATION - Weekly Crime Summary: May 1-8

T1 Beat:

Robbery:
A strong-arm robbery occurred on Friday, May 2 at 2:50 p.m. at the intersection of Maple Avenue and Tulip Avenue. Victim was riding moped on Tulip Avenue when a greenish blue Ford station wagon (possible 1990’s model) pulled close behind him, then cut moped off. Two suspects jumped out of the station wagon, then suspect one ran up to victim, pushed him and demanded him off the moped. Victim got off moped and fled to nearby business to call police. As victim ran, he heard moped start up and take off. Witness observed suspects fleeing on moped with station wagon following. Suspects (4): S1: Gray polo shirt, blue jeans. S2: Black shirt with whet sleeves and neck, blue jeans.

An attempted armed robbery occurred on Friday, May 2 at 5:35 p.m. in the unit block of Hickory Avenue. Victim walking on Hickory Avenue toward Elm Avenue when he noticed a B/M quickly park a bluish green station wagon. Suspect confronted victim and demanded victim’s wallet. Victim indicated that the suspect attempted to conceal a possible handgun by covering it with both hands and holding it pointed down toward ground. Victim’s neighbor began walking toward suspect at which time suspect got back into his vehicle and fled. Suspect: B/M, 5’8”, 180 lbs., black dredlocks, white t-shirt. *Suspect and vehicle match description from strong-arm robbery at Maple Avenue and Tulip Avenue.

Larceny - From Auto:
7100 block of Carroll Avenue, between Wednesday, April 30 at 5:00 p.m. and Friday, May 2 at 7:00 p.m. No forced entry. Property taken.

Auto Theft:
‘95 Honda Accord 6300 block Eastern Avenue 5/2

T2 Beat:

Larceny – From Auto:
7600 block of Carroll Avenue, Tuesday, May 6 between 12:00 p.m. and 8:52 p.m. Forced entry. No property taken.

Auto Theft:
’96 Subaru Legacy 7100 block Central Avenue 5/2

T3 Beat:

Robbery:
A strong-arm robbery/domestic dispute occurred on Tuesday, May 6 at 10:20 p.m. in the 7300 block of New Hampshire Avenue. Victim’s boyfriend became agitated, grabbed and pushed victim, then fled with victim’s purse. Suspect: B/M, 34 years of age, 5’10”-5’11”, 165 pounds, dredlocks, thin build.

Burglary – Residential:
1100 block of Haverford Road, Sunday, May 4 between 7:20 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. No forced entry. Property taken.

Arrests:
On Thursday, May 1 at 2:50 a.m. in the 7400 block of New Hampshire Avenue, an adult male was arrested and charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On Thursday, May 1 at 7:00 a.m. in the 1300 block of Holton Lane, an adult female was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana.

On Thursday, May 1 at 7:15 p.m. in the 7600 block of New Hampshire Avenue, an adult male was arrested and charged with Possession of an Open Alcohol Container.

On Thursday, May 1 at 9:57 p.m. in the 1100 block of University Boulevard, an adult male was arrested and charged with Possession of an Open Alcohol Container.

On Friday, May 2 at 4:00 p.m. in the 7100 block of New Hampshire Avenue, an adult male was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana.

On Friday, May 2 at 7:05 p.m. in the 7600 block of New Hampshire Avenue, three adult males were arrested and charged with Possession of an Open Alcohol Container.

On Friday, May 2 at 7:37 p.m. in the 1300 block of University Boulevard, two adult males were arrested and charged with Possession of an Open Alcohol Container.

On Saturday, May 3 at 4:38 a.m. in the 1300 block of University Boulevard, an adult male was arrested and charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On Saturday, May 3 at 6:19 p.m. in the 1300 block of University Boulevard, an adult male was arrested and charged with Possession of an Open Alcohol Container.

On Saturday, May 3 at 6:53 p.m. in the 7600 block of New Hampshire Avenue, an adult male was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct and Possession of an Open Alcohol Container.

On Sunday, May 4 at 6:30 a.m. in the 7400 block of New Hampshire Avenue, an adult male was arrested and charged with Sexual Assault.
