On May 5, 2008, at approximately 11:50 p.m., Takoma Park Police responded to the 1100 block of University Blvd. for reports of a fire in a commercial building. The Montgomery County Fire Department and Prince George’s County Fire Department were on the scene. After the fire was contained, fire officials indicated that the fire was due to an electrical malfunction. There was major structural damage to the building. There were no injuries.
