Chief Ronald A. Ricucci from the Takoma Park Police Department announces the arrests of Jesse Gilliam III, 44, of Hyattsville, Maryland and Melissa A. Griffin, 24, also of Hyattsville, Maryland.
On March 10, 2008, pursuant to routine patrol in the 7400 block of New Hampshire Avenue, a traffic stop was initiated on a vehicle bearing suspended tags. The traffic stop also revealed that Gilliam was driving on a suspended license. Incident to arrest, it was discovered that Gilliam was in possession of marijuana. His passenger, Griffin, was also in possession of crack cocaine. Both parties were arrested and transported to the Montgomery County Detention Center.
Gilliam was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and numerous traffic violations. Griffin was charged with possession of cocaine.
