COMMUNITY ADVISORY - Armed Robbery (Weapon Brandished)

On March 4th at approximately 8:55 p.m. units responded to the Takoma Park Police Station to a victim who reported she had been robbed earlier. The victim stated that at approximately 8:45 p.m. she was walking northbound on Elm Avenue. When she approached the 100 block of Elm Avenue, a black 1995 or 1996 Toyota Camry occupied by two black males traveling southbound on Elm Avenue pulled up in front of her. When the victim walked past their vehicle, the passenger of the Camry had exited the vehicle and came up behind her, grabbed her shoulder and pointed a Tech-9 style automatic pistol at her demanding property. The victim complied and the suspect fled in the vehicle with the suspect driver, backing up on Elm Avenue, heading towards Hickory Avenue. The suspect vehicle then made a right turn on to Hickory Avenue. The victim was physically unharmed during the robbery. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’10, thin build, dark clothing, blue jeans and chin-length dreads. The second suspect who was driving the vehicle is described as a black male. Investigation continues under case #08013048.
