FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
On January 16, 2008, at approximately 9:55 a.m., Takoma Park Police Units responded to the 700 block of Devonshire Avenue for reports of a burglary in progress. Units arrived to find the suspect fleeing the area. The suspect was later apprehended in the 900 block of Glaizewood Avenue. Terrance Buchanan, 18, of Silver Spring, Maryland, was charged with First Degree Burglary, Second Degree Burglary, Trespassing and Destruction of Property. Buchanan was transported to the Montgomery County Detention Center where he is currently being held.
Chief Ricucci wants to thank an alert citizen who spotted the suspect in the area and reported it immediately to the police department. The Chief praises the teamwork of Patrol Team 2 supervised by Sgt. Gilbert. The Criminal Investigations Division will be following this incident up in relation to the series of burglaries occurring in the City.
