Attempted Armed Robbery (gun used)

On November 7th at approximately 3:00 p.m., units responded to Tulip Avenue for reports of an attempted armed robbery. The victim was walking on Tulip Avenue when she was approached by a young black male. The suspect pointed a gun at her and demanded money. When the victim indicated she didn’t have any, the suspect started checking her pockets. The victim yelled at the suspect, to which he responded by running away towards Cedar Avenue. The victim was not harmed physically and the suspect obtained no property. A K9 responded to track the area with negative results. The suspect is described as being approximately 16-18 years old, 5’4, 125 lbs, dark skinned, wearing a navy blue hoodie jacket, dark blue colored blue jeans and possibly black shoes. The gun displayed is described as black with a round, angle-shaped barrel, possibly a pellet gun. While the victim’s courage is commended, the police advise against antagonizing a suspect in this situation, which could prove physically detrimental to a victim.
