Strong Armed Robbery

On November 3rd at approximately 12:10 p.m., units responded to the 6700 block of New Hampshire Avenue near Poplar Avenue for reports of a citizen strong armed robbery. The victim was preparing to board a metro bus when an individual grabbed her bag and began running. The victim turned and saw the individual running with several other persons. The victim chased the individuals up Conway Avenue towards Circle Avenue. Two of the individuals (both black males, approximately 26-27 years old, both wearing corn rows) ran back to the victim and advised they would help her retrieve her bag. The four individuals then gathered behind an unknown address on Conway Avenue. The victim notified the police. Prince George’s County Police Officers arrived, however, the individuals had left prior to their arrival. The suspect who grabbed the bag is described by the victim as a Hispanic male, short, approximately 16 years old, wearing a black hooded sweat shirt. No police canine was available in the area to attempt a track. Some of the victim’s property was recovered. Investigation continues by TPPD under case #07062263. In an unrelated incident, a strong armed robbery occurred in the District of Columbia at Carroll Street and Maple Street on November 5th at approximately 1:30 a.m. Two black males took the victim’s wallet and fled. The first suspect was described as tall and skinny and the second suspect was described as heavy-set. The District of Columbia Police responded and handled the incident.
