Arrests:
On July 09 at 12:14 am, in the 7600 block of Maple Avenue, an adult male was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. 06-8289
On July 09 at 3:50 am, in the 7400 block of New Hampshire Avenue, an adult male was arrested and charged with possession of CDS paraphernalia. 06-8296
On July 09 at 3:52 am in the 7400 block of New Hampshire Avenue, an adult female was arrested on an open Harford County warrant for failure to appear in court on a charge of possession of CDS. 06-8297
Crime Reports
On July 09 at 9:00 am, in the 600 block of Houston Avenue a 2nd Degree
Assault occurred. An adult male assaulted his adult girlfriend inside an
apartment and fled prior to the arrival of police units. The victim was taken to a local hospital where she was treated and released for minor injuries. A warrant for 2nd degree assault has been issued for the suspect. 06-8303.
On July 09 at 8:24 pm, in the 600 block of Kennebec Avenue, a Strong Armed Robbery occurred. A carry-out food delivery driver, an adult male was approached by three subjects from behind who grabbed him and riffled through his pockets. The suspects took cash from the victim along with his cellular telephone then fled in a red vehicle NFD (no further description). The victim was not injured. The suspects were described as follows: S1- black male with dreadlocks, unknown age, height and weight, wearing a black shirt with yellow writing; S2- black male NFD, and S3- white male with red hair, wearing a white shirt and blue jeans NFD. 06-8331
On July 07 at 11:31 pm, in the 1300 block of Erskine Avenue an armed robbery occurred. Two adult males disembarked from a bus at New Hampshire Avenue and Erskine Avenue when they observed a black two door Honda with unknown MD registration plates drive past and stop. Two subjects exited the vehicle and approached the victims. One subject held a handgun to the side of one victim while the other subject held a large knife to the other victim's side, while they demanded their property. The suspects removed all the victims' property from their pockets, returned to their vehicle and fled. The victims were not injured. The suspects were described as follows: S1- black male, mid 20's, approx. 6', 160 lbs., black long hair, armed with a black handgun, wearing a white long sleeve shirt and blue jeans; S2- Hispanic male, late teens, approximately 6', 200 lbs., black long hair, armed with a large kitchen style knife. 06-8238
On July 11 at 3:00 pm, in the 7300 block of Hilton Avenue a burglary occurred. An adult male stopped an adult female as she was leaving her residence and asked her for directions to a nearby street. The victim provided the information, entered her vehicle and left the area. A short time later, the victim returned home and saw the suspect exiting her home, carrying her property which had been stuffed into bags. The suspect entered a blue colored 1993 Chevrolet pickup truck and fled from the residence. The victim reported that the suspect was bleeding profusely as he ran to his vehicle. A lookout was broadcast to the surrounding police jurisdictions. The Takoma Park Police Dept.
received a phone call from the Prince George's County Police advising of a subject who matched the lookout information of the suspect and vehicle. Takoma Park units responded to Prince George's County and met with the units who were detaining the suspect. The investigation revealed that the truck had been reported stolen. The suspect was positively identified and property taken from the victim's residence was recovered. The suspect was arrested by Prince George's County Police. 06-8296
On July 12 at 8:45 pm in the 7600 block of Carroll Avenue, a bomb threat occurred. An unknown suspect called a local hospital and reported that a bomb was at the location. There was an evacuation of the hospital and the area was secured until personnel trained in explosive detection could arrive on the scene. Several Police agencies from the nearby jurisdictions responded with explosive detection dogs and conducted several searches within and the surrounding areas of the hospital, which resulted in no explosives or suspicious packages being located. 06-8468
