Crime Blotter 05.12-18.06

TAKOMA PARK POLICE DEPARTMENT

Investigators would like to speak with three men who were observed using the credit cards of a homicide victim within 12 hours of the crime. A surveillance video showing these individuals can be viewed at www.takomaparkmd.gov. Arrests:
On May 16 at 6:05 am in the 8100 block of Lockney Avenue, an adult male was arrested and charged with 1st degree assault after police received a call for a domestic assault in progress. 06-5538

On May 17 at 2:00 am in the 8600 block of Flower Avenue, an adult female was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while impaired by alcohol and two traffic related charges. 06-5586

Crime Reports
On May 13 at 12:05 pm in the 6900 block of New Hampshire Avenue, an indecent exposure occurred. The victim, a juvenile female was in the backseat of her father’s car waiting at a gas pump while her father paid inside the station when she noticed a subject standing outside his own vehicle on the other side of the pump exposing himself while watching the victim. The subject stopped and drove off before the victim’s father returned. He was described as a Hispanic male, 35-40 years old, 5'9", 150 lbs., medium build, brown eyes, light complexion, wearing a blue baseball hat, dark blue tank top and blue jeans. He was driving a dark green 1995 Dodge truck with Maryland tags. 06-5434

On May 13 at 5:20 pm in the 7400 block of New Hampshire Avenue, a commercial burglary occurred. A door was forced open to gain entry. No property was taken. 06-5507

On May 15 at 7:50 pm in the 1300 block of University Blvd., an auto theft occurred. It is unknown what method was used to steal the 2004 Dodge Dakota. 06-5528

On May 15 at 8:28 pm at the intersection of Eastern Avenue and Laurel Avenue, an armed robbery occurred. A juvenile male was walking when he was approached by a subject who demanded his property while pointing a handgun at him. After the victim emptied his pockets, the subject told him to take his jacket off. The victim complied and the subject took the jacket and walked away. The victim was not injured. The subject was described as a black male, 6' tall, medium build, dark complexion, wearing a black North Face jacket with a hood, and a white tee shirt. 06-5529

On May 15 at 9:52 pm in the 8600 block of Flower Avenue, a homicide occurred. An adult male was walking in front of his apartment building when he was approached from behind by two subjects. One of the subjects told the victim to lay down on the ground, removed his wallet from a pocket then shot the victim in the back. The subjects also shot at three citizens who were standing nearby as they ran to a dark SUV or a dark mini-van which then drove off. No one else was hit by the gunfire. The subjects were described as black males, early 20's, wearing black clothing and masks. The victim was transported to a hospital and died later. 06-5532

On May 15 at 11:00 pm in the 7200 block of Maple Avenue, an armed robbery occurred. An adult male was walking when he was approached by two subjects. One subject pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded his wallet. After the victim turned over his wallet, the subject hit him on the head with the gun. The subjects fled and were seen entering an older model white, four door Cadillac. The victim sought medical attention for minor injuries the next day. The subjects were described as black males, 6'-6'1", wearing dark clothing. 06-5533
