Arrests:
On February 3 at 11:00 am in the 1100 block of University Blvd., an adult male was arrested for theft under $500 when a store employee reported a shoplifting. 06-1257
On February 6 at 11:00 pm in the 6900 block of New Hampshire Avenue, an
adult female was arrested on an open Montgomery County warrant for
Possession of CDS Paraphernalia. 06-1382
Crime Reports
On February 3, between 12:00 am and 4:30 pm in the 7400 block of Glenside Drive, a residential burglary occurred. It is unknown how entry was gained. Property was taken. 06-1274
On February 3 at 6:30 pm in the 7500 block of New Hampshire Avenue, a strong arm robbery occurred. An adult female was getting into the passenger side of her vehicle, when a small dark colored vehicle pulled up beside her. A subject exited the vehicle and grabbed the victim's purse. The victim tried to hold onto her purse, but let go when the subject threatened to shoot her although she did not see a gun. The subject fled in his car. The victim was not injured. The suspect was described as a black male, 5'7" with a dark
complexion. 06-1275
Between February 3 at 11:01 pm and February 6 at 3:23 pm in the 1000 block of University Blvd., a burglary occurred. A window in the rear of the building was broken to gain entry. Property was taken. 06-1288
On February 4 at 11:30 pm at the intersection of Wildwood Drive and Jackson Avenue, an armed robbery was attempted. An adult male was riding his moped when he noticed a car behind him. When the victim stopped at the intersection, the car cut in front of him, knocking the moped over. The passenger in the vehicle pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded his money. The victim ran off without giving the subject anything and the vehicle left. The victim was not injured. The passenger was described as a light skinned hispanic male, wearing light colored clothing. The victim could not give a description of the
driver of the two door red sporty vehicle with a spoiler on the ear. 06-1290
On February 5 at 6:30 am in the 900 block of East West Highway, a strong arm robbery occurred. An adult male was standing at an outside window of a gas station office making a purchase when he heard voices behind him and was struck and knocked to the ground by two subjects while a third stood by. After striking the victim several times, a subject removed property from the victim's pocket then all three fled in an older model small grey car. The victim had minor injuries and refused treatment. The subjects were described as black males in their 20's, two with braids, one wearing a dark colored jacket. 06-1324
On February 5 between 8:30 pm and 8:40 pm in the 800 block of Colby Avenue, an auto theft was attempted. A witness saw four black males
tampering with a 1996 Jeep Cherokee and scared them off. The ignition was damaged in the attempt. 06-1342
On February 6 at 10:36 am in the 7100 block of Maple Avenue, a robbery/home invasion occurred.. An adult was in an upstairs room in his home when an unknown subject entered the room and verbally threatened the victim, told him to get on the floor and demanded the victim's property and money. After the victim told the subject his money was downstairs, the subject left the room and then left the house. Property was taken. The victim was not injured. The suspect may have entered through an unlocked door. The suspect was described as a black male, under 30 years old, medium build, brown eyes, medium complexion, wearing a dark blue or black knit cap. 06-1354
On February 6, between 7:30 pm and 8:30 pm in the 7500 block of Maple
Avenue, an auto theft was attempted. The victim's keys were stolen from a gym locker by an unknown suspect who then drove the 1999 Toyota Camry a short distance before hitting a tree and abandoning the car. 06-1377
Between February 6 at 9:30 am and February 7 at 8:10 am in the 6700 block of Conway Avenue, an auto theft occurred. It is unknown how the 2002 Chrysler Sebring was stolen. 06-1385
On February 7 at 7:00 am in the 6500 block of New Hampshire Avenue, an armed robbery occurred. An adult male was standing in a parking lot when he was approached by two subjects. One subject pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded that the victim hand over his wallet and phone. The victim complied and the subjects fled in a green four door Honda Accord. The victim was not injured. The suspects were described as a tall black male and a white female. 06-1388
On February 7 at 7:50 pm in the 6500 block of Poplar Avenue, a purse snatching was attempted. An adult female exited a bus and walked a short distance when she heard footsteps behind her. She turned around to see a subject she had passed after leaving the bus running toward her with his hand extended. Thinking the subject intended to grab her shoulder bag, the victim began screaming and the subject instead ran in another direction. The subject was described as a black male, 17-20 yrs old, 5'8", 170 lbs, thin build, light complexion, short dark hair, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and baggy pants. 06-1412
