Arrests
On July 23 at 12:33 pm in the 7500 block of Maple Avenue, an adult male was arrested on an open bench warrant for failure to obey a court order. 03-2516

On July 26 at 7:35 pm in the 1300 block University Blvd, an adult female was arrested for attempting to cash a fraudulent check. The female was charged with attempted theft, uttering a false document and forgery of a false document. 05-9609

Arrests (cont'd):
On July 27 at 1:53 am in the 8200 block of Roanoke Avenue, an adult male was arrested on an open warrant for second degree assault. 05-9622

On July 28 at 11:00 am in the 1100 block of University Blvd., an adult male was arrested and charged with Theft Under $500. 05-982

Crime Reports
Between July 23 at 9:30 am and July 24 at 12:30 am in the 100 block Ritchie Avenue, a residential burglary occurred. Unknown subject(s) gained entry through the front door and stole property. No forced entry was discovered. 05-9498

On July 24 at 10:10 am in the 8000 block Flower Avenue, an attempted strong armed robbery occurred. An adult male was approached by a subject who asked the victim for the time. As the victim looked at his watch, the subject grabbed the victim and demanded his wallet and money. The victim did not have a wallet or money and the suspect fled on foot. The victim was not injured. The subject was described as a black male, 20's, 5-05, medium build, dark complexion, wearing a red hat, white tee shirt and blue jeans. 05-9497

On July 24 at 7:09 pm, an officer on patrol in the Old Town/North Takoma area observed 17 incidents of graffiti on signs, newspaper stands and buildings. An investigation is underway. 05-9371; 9477 thru 9482; 9485 thru 9492; 9502

On July 25 at 12:44 pm in the 7400 block of Baltimore Avenue, police responded to a residence for a report of a gunshot coming from inside a residence. Police discovered an adult male in the residence deceased from a single gunshot wound which was discovered to be self inflicted. 05-9545

Between July 25 at 8:30 pm and July 26 at 9:40 am in the 6700 block of Prince George’s Avenue, an auto theft was attempted. Unknown subjects attempted to steal a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria. The driver’s door and ignition were damaged. 05-9589
