Takoma Park police have arrested a 27-year-old D.C. man on one count of attempted kidnapping and two counts of second-degree assault. The charges arose from an incident at a public building in the 100 block of Philadelphia Avenue, Takoma Park, April 11.
The man allegedly entered the building, speaking to several girls aged 10 and 11. Witnesses reported he attempted to have one girl leave with him, but she declined. Police received both telephoned and in-person reports shortly before 5 p.m. Responding patrol officers detained the man a block away, at Grant and Maple Avenues.
No physical injuries to any of the girls were reported. The man will be detained at the Montgomery County Detention Center.
