Electric Library, a full text database of articles from over 1,000 newspapers and magazines, Congressional testimony, radio/TV transcripts, and more, is now free to all citizens of Takoma Park who have library cards. This was originally funded by the Friends of the Takoma Park Library. Thank you for your generous support of the Friends through your donations, volunteer work, and memberships.

To begin, please have your library card ready and click on the Electric Library button above. Then enter your library bar code number without any spaces.
 
In addition to becoming comfortable with the basic search, be sure to experiment with the topic and reference tabs because eLibrary also gives you a subject listing of verified, selected websites as well as direct access to a number of print reference resources such as Fodor's.

• The contents of the Electric Library are updated constantly. Please bookmark this page. Do not bookmark the following page because you must enter from this location.
• If you are having any problems you may have used a different Electric Library account on your computer, such as the one offered by Montgomery County Schools to students, and it set cookies. In that case simply continue to use the MCPS login rather than ours, or clean out your cache and your Electric Library cookies.
• Do not pass your library card or number on to anyone else. It is dangerous and it is also a violation of the terms of use. If your card is lost or stolen please notify the library at 301.891.7259.
