Jean Craighead George, who died this week at age 92, may have been best known for her Newbery Medal winning book, Julie of the Wolves , but she wrote many other novels and non-fiction books. Our library has 39 books written by George, including one of my favorites, The Tarantula in My Purse and 172 Other Wild Pets .
